Summer Academy

Reflection
On the first day of summer academy, I, along with other STEM freshmen, learned about scientific method and the design process along with their similarities and differences, setting us up for what our science fair projects would be like. We also learned about the points system in high school and how STEM applied to it and at the end we tie dyed shirts. The following day of summer academy, the freshmen, including myself learned further about Scientific Method and the Design Process and we presented our original science fair project ideas to the teachers and seniors there for feedback. We also learned how to graph based on a survey we participated in which are shown down the page. Outside of the actual summer academy, it was required that we complete a pre-course assignment that introduced us to the basis that the Design Process and Scientific Method before learning about them in the Summer Academy.
Responsibilities
As most classes, I am expected to participate and actively learn as well as prepare to do such things.
In order to do this, there isn't any food allowed in class and phones along with other devices should be put away when learning along with anything else distracting and in addition, students should come to class daily and are expected to preform appropriately digitally when it comes to avoiding plagiarism and respecting other students. However, there also STEM specific requirements that include maintaining a A-B average, participating in the STEM science fair and possibly others if the student qualifies. Also it is expected that we turn in work on time including Lab write ups in which students are required to participate in and if absent, catch up with other group members.
