Sophmore Year

Sophomore End of Grade Summative Reflection

Similarly to the previous year, the first semester was that of greater difficulty as in addition to the science fair project, there was a requirement to create a research paper that had a previously unknown format of indirect citations with similar structure to the literature review matrix constructed last year which I had not practiced sense then. Within the research paper's literature review, there were three topics in which each had at least two supporting pieces of evidence. Additionally, the extent in types of data was large with, making it difficult to determine meaning of data quickly. As a result of a consistent start time for sleep, there was a reduced duration that could be used to complete other work such as that of ELA. However, greater durations of sleep seemed to aid in productivity. For the duration of the year, I often prioritized smaller work on the weekdays unless I had not completed work of greater strain on the weekend before that was due in that week.  Due to the reduced population, sophomore STEM students were enabled to better connect to each other throughout the entire year including myself. Support by teachers has also continued to aid me in my progression through STEM curriculum throughout this year. Content exclusively provided by STEM has continued to be perplexing to myself and my interest in medical fields through the Human Body Systems course. I have decided to continue being in STEM due to the interesting exclusive content provided, aid in performing activities that may be beneficial to the community as well as in my appliance to colleges and further develop relations with my peers that are in STEM. As for a student who is considering applying for STEM, they should if they are hardworking, enjoy learning about content relating to medical fields and enjoy examining how the world works so as to better the standards of people around them or the state of the Earth.
