Interviews
1. Tara

Date: 10/3/2023

Tara is a Project and Program Manager, which falls into Information Technology, that works for, Kaiser Permante, a healthcare and insurance company. As her title implies, her job is to manage large scale projects/programs as needed by her company, of which the most recent of these projects was that of the moving data centers' content both physically and digitally, in which she managed technicians who where the ones to actively transfer the data. However, she does interact with servers in that she is responsible for the safe keeping of backup storage in that she handles the key needed to construct/gain access to the data as to prevent the effects of ransomware, which requires a knowledge of how to use the technology.
In this, she had to analyze different components such as the data storage capabilities, weight, power usage, heat emission, etc. of the servers being used/moved which requires a knowledge of the technology being used and the use of math in the determining of these elements to best suit the functioning of these servers which are both facets of STEM. Additionally, she does the forecasting, budgeting and other aspects of accounting for the projects/programs she manages.

2. Af Shirinzedah
Date: 4/23/2024
Af is a Doctor of Chiropractic which entitles him to examine, diagnose and, along with another medical adviser, such as a PT, depending on condition, treat, make suggestions to treat, or reduce symptoms caused by musculoskeletal disorders of the spine or other muscular disorders depending on disorder. Methodes for examination include palpations, X-ray, ROM measurements, muscular strength testing, comparative response to light sensations (Ex: brushing) and reflex testing. Measures used to correct musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions include manual manipulation of spine with use of varying devices to aid in treating misalignment of vertebrae, suggestion of certain exercises regularly as well as teaching certain movements to achieve normal tasks, such as standing up, to alleviate symptoms of misalignment, such as pain, and soft tissue treatment or use of electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) to reduce occurrence of muscle spasms.
In order to perform and make sense of palpations, X-rays, reflex testing and other examination methods as to diagnose a patient as well as be able to suggest/perform appropriate treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, Af would require an extensive knowledge of human anatomy and physiology of these areas. Additionally, the use of an X-ray to aid in determining the position and state of the vertebrae and EMS to stimulate muscle contraction in a way that reduces muscle spasms emphasizes the importance in use of technology for a Doctor of Chiropractic. Math is required in performance of X-rays as the dimensions of a patient's body must be used to determine the strength of radiation released from an X-ray tube, measured in milliampere per second (mAs), and depth, which is determined by the kilovoltage peak, the difference in energy potential of the X-ray tube (kVp).
